Package: libcpu-features-dev Version: 0.6.0-1 Severity: serious User: debian...@lists.debian.org Usertags: piuparts Control: block -1 with 978096
Hi, during a test with piuparts I noticed your package fails to upgrade from 'testing'. It installed fine in 'testing', then the upgrade to 'sid' fails because it tries to overwrite other packages files without declaring a Breaks+Replaces relation. See policy 7.6 at https://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-relationships.html#overwriting-files-and-replacing-packages-replaces >From the attached log (scroll to the bottom...): Preparing to unpack .../libcpu-features-dev_0.6.0-1+b1_amd64.deb ... Unpacking libcpu-features-dev (0.6.0-1+b1) ... dpkg: error processing archive /var/cache/apt/archives/libcpu-features-dev_0.6.0-1+b1_amd64.deb (--unpack): trying to overwrite '/usr/include/cpu_features/cpu_features_cache_info.h', which is also in package libvolk2-dev:amd64 2.4.1-1 Errors were encountered while processing: /var/cache/apt/archives/libcpu-features-dev_0.6.0-1+b1_amd64.deb src:volk seems to use an embedded copy of libcpu-features-dev and ships it in libvolk2-dev. I've requested that to be dropped in #978096, but as long as this has not happened the version libcpu-features-dev should use in the to-be-added Breaks+Replaces is only a guess. cheers, Andreas
