I've prepared the required changes to drop the python-ldns package in this branch https://salsa.debian.org/dns-team/ldns/-/tree/936832-stop-building-python-ldns and the corresponding MR: https://salsa.debian.org/dns-team/ldns/-/merge_requests/1 Unless Ondřej (or someone else) objects, I will apply them along with the package for the latest upstream release (1.7.1).
