Steve, Now I understand. I don't have any source packages in the local repository, and hence an empty Sources.gz file. Commenting out the deb-src line in my sources.list solves the problem. Please close the bug if it's the intended behaviour of apt (or at least apt-src). It would just seem a bit harsh that the error of 1 out of many repositories should stop it from working altogether. Thanks for your time and enlightening me something more about debian. Regards, ST -- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
