So while the sgml-base awaiting trigger does not help matters, I'm not entirely sure this might not be still a problem with dpkg itself. :/ (I did have a remaining case in mind when I fixed the last batch of problems, that might require an alternative cycle procressing strategy, but not sure yet whether that's necessary and founded.) So, could I ask for another debug rerun with --debug=70441? Otherwise I'll try to reproduce this locally during the weekend or so. > This bug is reproducible on several tests of meta-packages pulling in > lots of packages if --install-recommends is enabled. > > Processing triggers for libc-bin (2.28-8) ... > dpkg: cycle found while processing triggers: > chain of packages whose triggers are or may be responsible: > postgresql-common -> sgml-base > packages' pending triggers which are or may be unresolvable: > menu: /usr/share/menu > sgml-base: /usr/share/xml: /usr/share/sgml: update-sgmlcatalog: /etc/sgml > postgresql-common: /usr/share/hunspell: /usr/share/postgresql > dbus: /etc/dbus-1/system.d > ca-certificates: update-ca-certificates > dictionaries-common: update-default-ispell: update-default-wordlist: > aspell-autobuildhash > dpkg: error processing package menu (--configure): > triggers looping, abandoned > Processing triggers for sgml-base (1.29) ...
