Retitling for the current scope of the bug: openjdk-8 will be removed from buster and we'll ship with openjdk-11 as the default version (if all goes according to plan). Thus it'd be good to get gdcm fixed and building with default-jdk. According to the upstream bug, this seems like a bad javac usage from gdcm, which should specify an output directory.
