Kernel: Linux 3.16.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores)

-- Steps to reproduce --
1) Get stuff:
1.1) debian-8.6.0-amd-DVD-1.iso
1.2) VirtualBox-5.1.8-111374-Win.exe
2) Install using:
*) Newly created .vdi (virtual disk with dynamic re-sizing, 30GB).
*) Murican keyboard (Keyboard layout selection in install).
*) Guided partitioning.
*) Use network mirror (to update installation).
*) UTC clock.
*) Allow shadow, allow root login, no extra users.
*) Load usb module-driver-thingy (default option on install enabled by
default).
*) Uncheck all software packages (do not install anything, no desktop
environment, no system utilities, no print server etc.)
*) Slap GRUB onto master boot record; do not enforce EFI.
*) Finish.
3) Try to boot and see it hanging for a few minutes during boot because of
random problems.
*4) Possibly install random packages to eliminate "CPU#X stuck for Xs":
firmware-linux-free
intel-microcode
-- Fun facts --
/etc/fstab has correct UUID. You can even uncomment the whole line, same thing.

Thanks for your report. Please contact one of the user support channels
as listed at https://www.debian.org/support as this report is not
actionable in this state. The 'base' package is the wrong place for
this report so I'll be closing it now.
Cheers,
Julien
