I got that, what I still don't have a handle on is why that's a good idea - it was a worrying struggle to understand what was going on and even now that I think I've got that figured out it feels like something that's just being done by default and I am concerned that the packages will do more harm than good given the confusion they can cause with respect to multiarch.
