Thomas, Thanks for the response. I guess we could test a couple of ways. If you are able to backport into a config script that will work for 0.8.2, then I can attempt to build in a chroot here which should simulate the buildd's, then if that works I can submit the modified package to the buildd's and let them all have a go.
