My Emacs installation is still broken, but vm-bonus-el is probably not the cause, only the symptom. > Can you reproduce again or not? Yes I can. After successfully installing vm-bonus-el, I install bbdb again (no problem). Then I tried to reinstall vm-bonus-el and it failed (see below).
