Really? Just on s390, you say? And no one else has seen this
strange, broken behaviour, and reported it?
For a grave bug, this report is strangely devioid of all fact
and details, and indeed, just about anything that can actually help
fix it.
I can't reproduce it (probably because I do not have access to
s390), but I also fail to see how this is not user error -- k-p now
uses the kernel Makefiles idea of what the version number is. The
most common reason I can speculate (since there is no hard data) is
that you told k-p to make the version like this.
