Thanks for the notice. Unfortunately we can't switch QGIS to Qt5 because qscintilla2 doesn't support Qt5 for Python 2 and QGIS upstream doesn't support Python 3 yet as discussed earlier in this bugreport. This means that qgis will be removed from stretch and that's a shame, but not something I can prevent.
