The package has been uploaded to jessie-proposed-updates thanks to Adam D. Barratt and Gianfranco Costamagna.
You can (and I encourage you to ;-)) test the package following the instructions on the stable-proposed-updates wiki page (https://www.debian.org/releases/proposed-updates). Please confirm again that this package fixes your problems booting in degraded mode and that it doesn't introduce any regression. If everything goes well, I think (and I hope ;-)) this package can be part of the next stable point release. Cheers Yann
