Hi Ian,

I just hit this bug yesterday evening. To solve it temporarily,
downgrade libmhash2 to version 0.9.1-1:
$ wget
ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/m/mhash/libmhash2_0.9.1-1_i386.deb
$ sudo dpkg -i --force-downgrade libmhash2_0.9.1-1_i386.deb

I will leave this bug open until the new libmhash2 is fixed, see also
http://bugs.debian.org/348604

Regards,
  Bastian
