Package: wmweather Version: 2.4.5-2 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable
Dear Maintainer, *** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate *** * What led up to the situation? * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? * What was the outcome of this action? * What outcome did you expect instead? *** End of the template - remove these template lines *** I've tried to use wmweather on my setup, however it is unable to launch, at least on my machine, and just gives me a segmentation fault instead. Because wmweather used to work on my system up until a couple days ago, I think that a library update may have caused this issue (so it may just be that a feature the package used was deprecated or something). I've attached my strace of wmweather below. nathan@ThinkPad:~$ strace -eopen wmweather open("/etc/ld.so.cache", O_RDONLY|O_CLOEXEC) = 4 open("/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libcurl-gnutls.so.4", O_RDONLY|O_CLOEXEC) = 4 open("/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libXpm.so.4", O_RDONLY|O_CLOEXEC) = 4 open("/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libXext.so.6", O_RDONLY|O_CLOEXEC) = 4 open("/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libX11.so.6", O_RDONLY|O_CLOEXEC) = 4 open("/lib/i386-linux-gnu/i686/cmov/libc.so.6", O_RDONLY|O_CLOEXEC) = 4 open("/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libidn.so.11", O_RDONLY|O_CLOEXEC) = 4 open("/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/librtmp.so.1", O_RDONLY|O_CLOEXEC) = 4 open("/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libssh2.so.1", O_RDONLY|O_CLOEXEC) = 4 open("/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libnettle.so.4", O_RDONLY|O_CLOEXEC) = 4 open("/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libgnutls-deb0.so.28", O_RDONLY|O_CLOEXEC) = 4 open("/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libgssapi_krb5.so.2", O_RDONLY|O_CLOEXEC) = 4 open("/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libkrb5.so.3", O_RDONLY|O_CLOEXEC) = 4 open("/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libk5crypto.so.3", O_RDONLY|O_CLOEXEC) = 4 open("/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libcom_err.so.2", O_RDONLY|O_CLOEXEC) = 4 open("/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/liblber-2.4.so.2", O_RDONLY|O_CLOEXEC) = 4 open("/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libldap_r-2.4.so.2", O_RDONLY|O_CLOEXEC) = 4 open("/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libz.so.1", O_RDONLY|O_CLOEXEC) = 4 open("/lib/i386-linux-gnu/i686/cmov/libpthread.so.0", O_RDONLY|O_CLOEXEC) = 4 open("/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libxcb.so.1", O_RDONLY|O_CLOEXEC) = 4 open("/lib/i386-linux-gnu/i686/cmov/libdl.so.2", O_RDONLY|O_CLOEXEC) = 4 open("/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libhogweed.so.4", O_RDONLY|O_CLOEXEC) = 4 open("/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libnettle.so.6", O_RDONLY|O_CLOEXEC) = 4 open("/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libgmp.so.10", O_RDONLY|O_CLOEXEC) = 4 open("/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libgcrypt.so.20", O_RDONLY|O_CLOEXEC) = 4 open("/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libp11-kit.so.0", O_RDONLY|O_CLOEXEC) = 4 open("/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libtasn1.so.6", O_RDONLY|O_CLOEXEC) = 4 open("/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libkrb5support.so.0", O_RDONLY|O_CLOEXEC) = 4 open("/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libkeyutils.so.1", O_RDONLY|O_CLOEXEC) = 4 open("/lib/i386-linux-gnu/i686/cmov/libresolv.so.2", O_RDONLY|O_CLOEXEC) = 4 open("/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libsasl2.so.2", O_RDONLY|O_CLOEXEC) = 4 open("/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libXau.so.6", O_RDONLY|O_CLOEXEC) = 4 open("/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libXdmcp.so.6", O_RDONLY|O_CLOEXEC) = 4 open("/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libgpg-error.so.0", O_RDONLY|O_CLOEXEC) = 4 open("/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libffi.so.6", O_RDONLY|O_CLOEXEC) = 4 open("/dev/urandom", O_RDONLY|O_LARGEFILE) = 4 --- SIGSEGV {si_signo=SIGSEGV, si_code=SEGV_MAPERR, si_addr=0x10} --- +++ killed by SIGSEGV +++ Segmentation fault -- System Information: Debian Release: stretch/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 3.16.0-4-686-pae (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages wmweather depends on: ii libc6 2.19-18 ii libcurl3-gnutls 7.42.1-2 ii libx11-6 2:1.6.3-1 ii libxext6 2:1.3.3-1 ii libxpm4 1:3.5.11-1+b1 Versions of packages wmweather recommends: ii x11-utils 7.7+3 Versions of packages wmweather suggests: ii wmaker 0.95.6-1.1 -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
