Package: aptitude Version: 0.6.11-1+b1 Severity: grave aptitude does not know about the new _apt user in e.g., apt 1.1~exp8. Any use of aptitude update will leave filesystem permissions in an inconsistent state. Please use apt-get update as a workaround.
Symptoms look like: E: Could not open file /var/lib/apt/lists/ftp.tw.debian.org_debian_dists_experimental_contrib_binary-i386_Packages.IndexDiff - open (2: No such file or directory) The other aptitude commands still work.
