Unrelated to that, I would think that any package that modifies /etc/inittab is buggy: maintainer scripts should not modify configuration files belonging to other packages (Policy 10.7.4). Even worse, daemontools-run adds a new entry uncoditionally on upgrade even when the existing one was removed/commented out by the local admin. That's a RC bug (Policy 10.7.3: "local changes must be preserved during a package upgrade")...
