OK.  Technically, though, you're describing a different bug, namely
"alpha is missing".

Sure.  But then it ain't "grave" since it's only unusable in certain

To be honest, I was a little surprised that this manual step is
necessary.  I'm not in a hurry to get them removed since geomview is
being stalled by gcc-4.0 anyway.
