Hi folks, I'm also concerned by this problem.
What I have noticed during investigations is that all gnome services attempting to use gnome-settings-daemon complain about dconf with messages like
(gnome-settings-daemon:7139): dconf-CRITICAL **: unable to create directory '/run/user/0/dconf': Permission denied. doconf will not work properly.
there is maybe a problem somewhere with the format string (e.g. the %d) since the actual users are never uid=0
