About the archive rebuild: The rebuild was done on EC2 VM instances from
Amazon Web Services, using a clean, minimal and up-to-date chroot. Every
failed build was retried once to eliminate random failures.

#712883 is minor bugs I reported and still around.
But there were unrelated bug report attached to this thread.
The real bug was #709934.
0.3.4-1 buggy #709934
0.3.4-2 had patch on Makefile.am but not perfect ... regression
0.3.4-3 autoreconf to update Makefile.in
