Package: qemu-kvm, qemu-system
Version: 1.1.2+dfsg-5
Severity: serious
Tags: confirmed patch upstream pending
In addition to another USB issue/regression in qemu[-kvm] 1.1, which
is described in #683983, there's one more of the same theme.
Certain host USB devices, for example, a Logitech ClearChat Pro headset
(ID 046d:0a0b), causes an assertion failure when used with a windows
guest:
usb_packet_complete: Assertion `((&ep->queue)->tqh_first) == p' failed.
The mentioned headset for example, causes this assertion failure to
happen when unplugging the device or when using buttons, while it
generally works fine.
This bug has been fixed upstream in early days of past-1.1 series
development (ie, shortly after 1.1 has been released), but never
found its way into any stable series.
The severity of this bug is serious because generally, these devices
work just fine, untill some event happens, and when it happen, the
guest is effectively powered down, with any unsaved data being lost.
After wheezy will be out, much more people will use various USB devices
with their guests, so the issue will be more apparent.

Changes:
qemu-kvm (1.1.2+dfsg-6) unstable; urgency=low
.
* another bugfix for USB, upstream from early days of past-1.1.
usb-split-endpoint-init-and-reset.patch. With certain redirected
to guest USB devices, qemu process may crash:
.
usb_packet_complete: Assertion `((&ep->queue)->tqh_first) == p' failed.
.
The patch fixes this by de-coupling reset and complete paths.
Big thanks goes to Joseph Price who found the fix by doing a
reverse git bisection.
(Closes: #701926)
.
* fix wrong description of kvm transitional package (Closes: #701910)
