Yop, that's a mess - sorry about that. Trying to prevent the upstream source from modifying itself during the build obviously trashed what little fu I had to bear on the packaging in the first place. So given that we need a new/repacked upstream tarball, what's the right way to approach this bug with respect to wheezy? Thank you, tony
