Package: hobbit-plugins Version: 20120531 Severity: serious Justification: Makes the package unsuitable for release in the package maintainer's opinion
Due to http://bugs.debian.org/640209 we were urged to port the ircbot server plugin from Net::IRC to POE::Component::IRC despite Net::IRC works reliably and is less complex to use. While the ircbot plugin based on POE::Component::IRC does indeed connect to the configured IRC server, it doesn't pass any notifications into the configured IRC channel. Using POE::Wheel::ReadWrite instead of POE::Wheel::Run (plus some other code changes necessary due to that switch) solves the issue. Despite the ircbot plugin is used not that often because it's a server plugin, it's nevertheless often one of the most important plugins on the server side.
