Hello, On the surface I have encountered a problem that looks similar to this bug: * High file system load. * init_special_inode: bogus i_mode messages. * No obvious sign of hardware IO error or drive error (unfortunately drive doesn't support SMART)
However, some significant differences exist: * reiserfs not ext3. * not DM or RAID. * USB drive. * 2.6.10-5-386 with ubuntu. I apologize if this bug is unrelated. I think it might be... Running the reiserfsck program seems to indicate serious file system curruption issues exist. See attached file. It surprises me that a journaled filesystem can get into such a big mess. Hence I suspect the curruption might be happening at the block device layer, and unrelated to filesystem. I do not yet know if I can reproduce this on demand. I am not running knfs or any other NFS server (contrary to log messages). -- Brian May <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
