Hi, my old NMU adding a postinst script was still on mentors.d.n and it was uploaded today. Now I have looked a bit more into the implications of libcap2-bin not depending on libpam-cap.
The binaries in libcap2-bin don't depend on libpam-cap. I found the following reverse dependencies of libcap2-bin in Wheezy: wireshark-common lxc i3status gnome-keyring After a look at their source packages, I found that they all use binaries from libcap2-bin, but no evidence for a dependency on the PAM module. So it looks like this doesn't break other packages, but someone who has installed libcap2-bin for the PAM module might miss it after the upgrade. If someone considers this a bug, I suggest filing a new one, because it's not about leaving broken configuration behind anymore.
