All those "compat" packages in 1.5.x are completely broken. libpng15-15 does not have the same ABI as libpng12-0. So making libpng12-0_1.5.10 a compat package depending on libpng15-15 and creating symlinks makes absolutely no sense. The same is true for libpng3 and the libpng12-dev package. -- Why is it that all of the instruments seeking intelligent life in the universe are pointed away from Earth?
