Hi Lucas, The error mentioned in the bug report is not fatal and would not be the cause of the FTBFS.
I found: http://people.debian.org/~lucas/logs/2012/04/19/samba4_4.0.0~alpha19+dfsg1-4_unstable.log` but it doesn't seem to have much information about why the build actually fails. The error seems to suggest that it died after 15 minutes of inactivity during compilation, which seems odd.
