Hi, xbmc-live has a dependency on upstart (probably generated by dh_installinit when finding a package.upstart file) that prevents using xbmc-live with sysvinit. While upstart (or systemd) can be used to optionally replace sysvinit, no package that provides an init script should require one of these alternative implementations.
