Hello Andreas, thank you for reopening this bug report. The obvious solution is to backport the current version of wims to squeeze, the packages can be done most straightforward.
Please can you give some link, about how to perform a stable-update? I never did it. I think that I understood it was sufficient to indicate the right distribution (squeeze-update) in the changelog file: is it that simple? About wheezy: the package wims-4.03a-2 is candidate for entering testing, however it will not be accepted because a subpackage for all architectures (which provides java binaries) cannot be built on architectures missing java support. Is there some way to state that the package wims-java-applets needs no rebuild on architectures like *freebsd* since it is automatically built previously? Have you an idea for a workaround?
