Package: xpdf Version: 3.03-8 Followup-For: Bug #641873 Hi,
I think I have same problem. I was trying to read http://www.hitachi.com/rd/pdf/news/merl060301nrde_elevator.pdf And it essentially miss almost all text when trying to view in xpdf. It reads fine in Evince or in GV after converting using pdftops. I had one more pdf few days ago with similar problem, but cannot remember where it was.
