You are correct. I'm not holding out hope that this gets fixed anytime soon, although I am going to file a bug with upstream. It looks like in the meantime I am going to have to migrate all of my current installations to roundcube- mysql. I also raised the severity level to grave as this is more appropriate for this situation given that the package is completely unusable.
