Probably just qwt.
IIRC last time I updated python-qt4, qwt didn't like it either. I
believe qwt does a runtime check and aborts as you describe if the
version doesn't match what it was compiled again.
I don't think this is actually a python-qt4 bug, but a feature of qwt.
I will be traveling and only have intermittent Internet access for the
next several days, so if that proves not to be the case, additional
investigations/NMUs if needed welcome.
