I saw that you worked around these failures by s@/bin/sh@/bin/bash. I think that this is not the right fix. The real problem is in dash, not in darcs. The next upload of dash should fix this problem (there is nothing to change in darcs's sources, imho). For more details, you can have a look at #642922.
