Bug#626076: thunderbird 6 from mozilla website installed in /opt also has this problem

thunderbird 6.0 from mozilla website crashes with the following message 
when attaching a png file:

/opt/thunderbird/thunderbird-bin: symbol lookup error: 
/usr/lib/gnome-vfs-2.0/modules/libfile.so: undefined symbol: 
gnome_vfs_unescape_string
