I strongly object. What else is available for splitting tracks off of cassette tapes and records? It's the best tool out there. This is a travesty, its like throwing out the crown jewels. (Also note I seem to not be able to get email to some of the people at debian.org for some reason, and the web front end to bug tracker tries to force me to set up a GUI mailer.
