May I direct your attention to the fact that 'binutils' very recently began to ship a hard link in the binary package, thus this bug is more probably caused by 'binutils' than by 'hardening-wrapper'.
My development system using testing/i386 is not yet bitten by this bug, but unstable/kfreebsd-amd64 is severely impeded ever since I reported #617441. binutils_2.21.0.20110327-3_i386.deb lrwxrwxrwx root/root ./usr/bin/ld -> ld.bfd binutils_2.21.51.20110421-3_kfreebsd-amd64.deb hrwxr-xr-x root/root ./usr/bin/ld link to ./usr/bin/ld.bfd However, in the presence of 'hardening-wrapper' the location '/usr/bin/ld.bfd' is a soft link. Therefore the hardlink install must fail. Right? -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact listmas...@lists.debian.org
