Audacious skips, frequently, almost an entire second at a time of a track, makin g it unusable as a music player. This happens with MIDI playback (fluidsynth ba ckend), local mp3 and Ogg Vorbis files, and even mp3 and ogg streams. Playing those same audio files in mplayer (from the command line with no extra parameters ) worked fine.
