On a Supermicro H8SSL-I2 Server with a 3ware 8006-2LP controller I can boot the
system
using the plain xen-kernel and initrd (from LVM) but as soon as the hypervisor
is loaded
before the kernel booting fails already inside the initrd telling me that the
logical
volume ("system/root" in my case) cannot be found - 3ware controller drivers
are loaded
and seem operational.

The same system and kernel will boot flawlessly without the hypervisor loaded
before.

The booting is done the same way with or without Xen. No place for
speculation.
