Hi Luca, I can not talk for the maintainer, but I will encourage you to submit the patch on the upstream ML http://openocd.git.sourceforge.net/git/gitweb.cgi?p=openocd/openocd;a=summary but refreshed against their latest git (your register-command.diff does not apply cleanly).
