I think you're not getting the big picture here...
python-xml has been removed from unstable/testing so it lives only in
stable, where python 2.5 is the default. No-one will update it to make
it work with 2.6 as default (given it's not part of python core).

You have quite a broken setup here I found no reason to have teh
stable suite while you use (and prefer) the under-development suites
(testing and then unstable).

you have installed python from testing, so you broke your machine and
the packages that expect 2.5 as default, such as python-xml.
Your bugs are invalid, hence I'm closing them.
