BTW, not all Qt apps crash only some.
You mentionned rebuilding Qt 4. Does it happen with binaries you have rebuilt yourself, or at least that link to libraries you have rebuilt yourself? If yes, make sure you don't have binutils-gold installed, as it is currently broken with eglibc 2.11 (see bug#585051).
