The file is created in $HOME/.liquidwarrc , what's the value of $HOME? Indeed it should be created systematically, AFAIK LW writes the file when one quits the game.

Try also to install the allegro-demo and allegro-examples packages. Allegro demo uses sound so if the problem is Allegro related you should have the same kind of trouble running it. And if you have no problems I can still read the demo code and go figure what is different in LW and makes it behave that way. The examples also contain very basic programs which show Allegro features. Try to play a .wav file with this tool, and see what happens. Good luck, and thanks for your feedback. Christian. PS: I highly suspect that this is an Allegro and/or driver issue and not something which is LW specific but... ...we need to check 8-) -- Christian Mauduit <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> __/\__ ___ \~/ ~/(`_ \ ___ http://www.ufoot.org/ /_o _\ \ \_/ _ \_ http://www.ufoot.org/gnupg.pub \/ \___/ \__)
