If installing xulrunner-dev works around the issue I think it might be a valid option for a minimal approach to get it fixed in stable. Or is the showIntro=false hack possible to ship in a system wide configuration file? That would also be a valid option. Stating that one doesn't want to fix it in stable somehow leaves the impression that the packagers think that eclipse in stable is not to be supported - and somehow suggests that the release team should get it removed with the next point release.
