I updated openoffice last week from 3.1.1-8 to 3.1.1-14 and it crashes on startup too.
Typing dmesg in terminal the message below is showed: "soffice.bin[7189] general protection ip:7f612d24b43b sp:7fff45390d20 error:0 in libstore.so.3[7f612d244000+1c000]" I'm using Debian testing, kernel 2.6.30-2-amd64, libc6 2.10.2-5, openjdk-6, ure 1.5.1+OOo3.1.1-14
