Package: zlib1g
Version: 1:1.2.3.5.dfsg-1
Severity: serious
Justification: ABI break?

Hi,

context: kfreebsd-* experimental buildds were not properly configured
and pulled more stuff from experimental than actually needed. We started
to see many FTBFSes (in particular on kfreebsd-amd64) due to:
 - update-mime-database.real
 - xsltproc
 - xmllint
which started to segfault, core dump, etc. One can notice all of them
have a NEEDED on libxml2.so.2, which in turn pulls libz.so.1

I'm also able to reproduce this error on sid/(linux-)amd64, by just
pulling zlib1g from experimental. Before pulling it, this runs fine:
  sudo update-mime-database.real /usr/share/mime
After having pulled it, this segfaults.

Sounds like a possible ABI breakage? Since symbols look like okay-ish,
maybe a signature change? Upstream's diff is quite huge since build
system changed and so on, so I'll leave that up to you/upstream. ;)

Mraw,
KiBi.
