As this grave bug, which affects any new Squeeze installation for s390 and any upgrade from Lenny to Squeeze, has now remained unfixed for 4 months, even though it has been tagged pending for almost 2 months, I've uploaded an NMU to fix the issue.
The debdiff for the upload is attached. It also includes a fix for the only other BR against the package (#523178).
