2) You may enable Itcl, Itk and Tk interface and port plplot build system to use Tcl/Tk 8.5. The attached patch does that (it's rather simple - build-depend on tcl8.5, build-conflict on tcl8.4, enable Itcl, Itk, Tk in cmake/modules/tcl-related.cmake).
