Package: ghc6 Version: 6.10.4-1 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable
Hi, i am beginning to work with haskell and i needed a compiler, so i just aptitude install ghc and it provided the ghci command line interactive interpreter, which, when run: uov...@flatline:~$ ghci GHCi, version 6.10.4: http://www.haskell.org/ghc/ :? for help Loading package ghc-prim ... linking ... done. Loading package integer ... linking ... done. Loading package base ... linking ... done. Segmentation fault uov...@flatline:~$ causes a segmentation fault... I tried writing a short haskell program and it works if i use ghc directly. I also noticed that the one that segfaults seems to be ghc itself: flatline kernel: ghc[7063] segfault at 0 ip 08b9c87b sp bfb7c23c error 4 in ghc[8048000+c5b000] At this point, i don't know where to look. Thanks for the time, should any other new information be needed, let me know. regards -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-rc5 (SMP w/2 CPU cores; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=it_IT, LC_CTYPE=it_IT (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages ghc6 depends on: ii gcc 4:4.3.3-9+nmu1 The GNU C compiler ii libc6 2.10.1-2 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libffi-dev 3.0.9~rc1-1 Foreign Function Interface library ii libffi5 3.0.9~rc1-1 Foreign Function Interface library ii libgmp3-dev 2:4.3.1+dfsg-3 Multiprecision arithmetic library ii libgmp3c2 2:4.3.1+dfsg-3 Multiprecision arithmetic library ii libncursesw5 5.7+20090803-2 shared libraries for terminal hand ii perl [perl5] 5.10.1-5 Larry Wall's Practical Extraction ghc6 recommends no packages.
