It seems that this happened due to a broken symbols file shipped in the libc6.1 package. The Debian changelog for eglibc 2.10-1 suggests that this bug has been fixed: ,---- | eglibc (2.10.1-1) unstable; urgency=low | | [ Aurelien Jarno ] | [...] | * Fix package name in alpha/ia64 private symbols versioning. `---- So a binNMU against eglibc 2.10-1 should be sufficient; this is actually necessary on all architectures to make libnss-db installable again.
