Package: aboot Version: 1.0~pre20040408-3 Severity: critical Justification: breaks the whole system
The bootlx file shipped with aboot-base is version 0.9b instead of 1.0~pre20040408. The official lenny kernel is incompatible with aboot 0.9 and will fail to boot. The version of the bootlx file can be checked without installing using hexedit and looking for version strings. Compiling from the sources produces the correct file. It is likely this is a build issue. -- System Information: Debian Release: 5.0.1 APT prefers stable APT policy: (900, 'stable') Architecture: alpha Kernel: Linux 2.6.26-2-alpha-generic Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages aboot depends on: ii aboot-base 1.0~pre20040408-3 base files required for bootable m ii libc6.1 2.7-18 GNU C Library: Shared libraries aboot recommends no packages. aboot suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
