Package: libmyodbc Version: 3.51.15r409-4 Severity: grave Tags: patch Justification: renders package unusable
When attempting to use replacable parameters, I see: /usr/lib/ghc-6.10.1/ghc: relocation error: /usr/lib/odbc/libmyodbc.so: symbol mysql_odbc_escape_string, version libmysqlclient_15 not defined in file libmysqlclient_r.so.15 with link time reference Upgrading to myodbc 5.1.5r1144 fixes the problem. I had reported bug #505938 with this problem last fall. It has been unfixed, and reassigned to a different package. I reported back then that a newer libmyodbc would fix the problem, and that continues to be the case. Regardless of whether there is a bug in libmysqlclient15off, I feel that there *is* a bug in how myodbc is working at present, one that is fixed by upgrading to a newer upstream version. So I have gone to the effort to package the newer upstream version, because myodbc is useless as it is in a great many situations.
